Just wondering if anyone out there in ski-builder land has ever found an/or used a triaxial carbon fiber in the layup of their skis. If so, how dense was it, and how did it perform? Seems like it would make an excellent (though very expensive) component for the weight weenies out there. Thanks!

I've found it and procured a sample for a pair of test skis. Sorry that the picture isn't great, but it's 0, 60, -60, 11.8oz triaxial carbon fiber.

Glad you found it. I looked for some in the past, but it was so expensive I never got any. Where did you find it? Was it a reasonable price? Thanks for any help.

I got the number of the guy from my local epoxy supplier. I called him up and they sent me a 2yd. long sample roll to do a little testing. I think they were around $40/yard (32" wide). I'm working with him to see about larger quantity rolls, and about the possibility of being a vendor. If that works out I'll post some for sale on this forum. For now though I'd like to test out the skis first to see how it compares to the triaxial glass.

Is it woven or stiched? It looks like it's woven in the picture, but it's hard to tell with the quality. Let us know how it works out.

It's woven. If you right click on properties and go to the original picture it has much better resolution.
