I work as composites engineer at an dutch university

Afther building 5 pairs of ski's and 1 snowboard. I received a lot off questions like"can we do it also?.

So now we are starting up a workshop "Build your own ski or snowboard", this will take 6 evenings and will cost about 200-250 euro's. (just to pay for materials and location.

Does any one have tips or prior experiences?

With kind regards,

Jordy van Nimwegen

I've never done it but sounds like a fun idea... I think it will be a lot of work. I'd keep the class small, 2 or 3 people at first, depending on the size of your workshop. I'm assuming this would be a hands on course. I'd keep the layup process as simple as possible because there are so many variations, variables, and styles of boards and skis. Set expectations day 1, i.e. "the board or ski may not come out perfect".

I probably would have taken a class if there was one offered in my area. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I've seen a class offered on snowboardmaterials website. It's too far away and very expensive, so I haven't checked into it at all.
