I've been searching the web and found nothing so I figured I'd try my luck here. I'm a poor college student and I need a new pair of shaped skis to deal with the new england ice.
I have many old pairs of ski's at my house and was wondering if it was possible to just remove the edges, cut a sidecut into them and then just remount the edges? Has anyone done this or now if it would work or not.
I may just go ahead and give it a shot since it's not going to cost anything.
Shaping straight skis?

here they glued two skis together: http://www.skibuilders.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=174
You can take a wood sheet (3/4mm thick) cut your shaped ski, glue base and edges and glue your old skis on top.
