3.17mm (1/8) inch veneer?

So I have access to almost unlimited veneer of all types, basically, in this thickness.
2mm is what people use for topsheet?
Should I just drop a few mils off my core to try and compensate thickness/stiffness?
I don't want to make them too stiff.
Most likely the type of wood will matter both core and veneer?
88mm waisted all mountain twin. Kinda like a k2 mt baker.
Poplar/beach vert lam core 12mm on center down to 2mm tip and tail.
22oz triax top and bottom
160cm ski ~ 5ft 120lbs chicka
180cm ski ~ 5'11" 155lbs dood.
Should I loose 1.5mm? will it matter?
meh...
THanks

My veneer topsheet skis came out softer with the same core/layup than my pbt topsheet skis, for what it is worth.....

My $0.02
I'd build my cores the same as always as the stiffness is determined by the distance between your reinforcement layers (triax).
The veneer once soaked with epoxy and hardened will just be a noodle on top.
Even if it does add to the initial stiffness of the ski it will soon soften up.
My veneers are sitting downstairs waiting for cores to be machined.
They are probably about 2mm thick red oak ( it was all I could find locally)
I plan on putting a topsheet over top (just cause I like the smooth look).
Either way let us know how they turn out.

I've used maple and ash veneers for my top sheets. They were about 1/42" thick which is about 3/5mm.
I would think that 3mm veneer could be heavy, could soak up a ton of epoxy and would almost certainly have an impact on stiffness.
If you subtracted core material to compensate for veneer thickness then your tip/tail sections would be difficult to make since 2mm is usually how thick this section of the core is.
I would use the 3mm veneers to make horizontally laminated cores like davide has done.

Layered 3mm veneers would make cool sidewalls too.

If you have unlimited access to veneer... why not just make the whole core out of it?
Davide (on this forum) has done that for a long time, and it seems to work really well.
