As mentioned before am making pair of skis for my technology project.

Am not bothered about quality just how to make the cheapest set possible since i won't be able to test them out on real snow. I have all the tools required but need information on materials

Many Thanks

Jack

The tools are probably the most expensive part of the whole process!

For materials the only expensive part is the resin, everything else is peanuts (core, fiberglass, edges, base, etc). You can probably make a pair of skis for $100? But again, the resin is spendy and no way around it :(

Don't worry about making a complex vertically laminated core for just one pair. You can get great results from a single blank of pine, poplar, maple, fir, etc. Just make sure it is knot and crack free.
The epoxy is definitely pricey especially when you factor in how much it is to get the stuff shipped.

Hi jack, guessing your in the UK. Recommend www.epoxy-resins.co.uk for resin. If you really want to use base and edge, if you are building these for TEST purposes and never putting them on snow or dry slope then you might leave these out - otherwise boardbuildingsupplies.eu is your nearest supplier. Lots of places for the glass.

Any details on materials just go to the how too section on the main front page of skibuilders. Use the search function here for specifics. www.graphsnowboads.com is also a good cross refrence

PM me if you get stuck
