Where can I get ABS plastic to use as tip spacers and side-walls?

Look up PLASTIC in the phone book. This should provide you with a couple distributors who will ship to your area. They won't have a clue what product to turn you towards & shipping is expensive so most likely this will be frustrating.
On the other hand, you can call Durasurf (crown plastics) and they will gladly sell you UHMWPE (p-tex) in the appropriate dimensions for our application. And as an added bonus, they actually know what you are talking about.
