Just read about the Zai Hublot All Black ski. (Can't post a link since this is my first post. Forum rule to prevent spam) It has a stone core made of gneiss.
Has anyone here experimented with anything remotely like that?

Yeah I think I've seen Barney Rubble on a pair in the Flintstones.
Something must be lost in translation here ...stone core ...we going back to the dark ages.

If you look at Hublots watches they are mostly made of unconventional materials like ceramic, tantalum and tungsten. I don’t know the E-Modulus of gneiss but the skis are most likely just a big showoff for Hublot and another p***s enlarge for people with too much money.
I was more interested if anyone was/have been experimenting whit anything outside the box as core material. Not just the usual wood and the occasional foam.

Lead core for a softer ride? Anybody seen my steroids?
How about plutonium.. it melts the surface and gives you a friction free ride while doing double duty warming your feet!
