My Friend and I have decided to start building skis and snowboards. Thanks to this site we actually have an Ide of what we are doing. However I am still having one problem.

I am trying to design a center mounted symmetrical park ski that has a specific flex point in the tip and tails like the line anthems/invaders or Icelantic Da'Nollie. I would want it more like the Da'Nollies with but with a stiff under foot then a linear decrease in thickness to the flex point where the core thickness would drop dramatically. my question is how thick should the tips and tails be if i want them to be really soft and buttery and how thick should the stiff portion be. It would be a 170cm ski. Thanks for any help.

Try with 1,5mm in the tips, 12mm in the mid. Rubber spacers also work great. (1,5mm rubber, and you can press the tips together with two fingers)

Rubber spacers as in tip spacers? We were planning on putting rubber over the edges as well. does that produce good results? Thanks for the help.

yes, tipspacer.
The rubber on the edges is a lot thinner than the tipspacers. You can use 1-2mm thick rubber sheets you buy to make rubber gaskets from.
