Here http://www.lineskis.com/rd/index.php they show a ski being in the press for less than 20 min - true it is heated but are there other factors that would be easily brought to the home workshop?

Basically heat is the only way to press that quickly. You can try faster epoxies, but it will also decrease your working time.

I'm working on heating our press. Should be ready soon.
