Honnestly the time put in it wasn't so bad...
A true indication of a good design. My machine was the same way - I spent a LOT of time designing it, but once the parts showed up, actual assembly took just a few days.

It's a great feeling when the machine starts to move.
Remembers me how I destroyed a pen on my first attempts... Attached a pen to the z-axis and loaded the roadrunner demo g-code into Mach3. But actually I had no idea what the z-axis will do
Have fun!

i watched a guy pull his hand out of the way just in time for the z axis to plunge the bit a good inch down into the table!! big oops, always use precautions, always have a "way out" if things go bad.

Everything is working again !
Need to adjust everything again, add a temporary cutting surface (one of the first jobs is gonna be a torsion box), and make some chips !

how's that CNC workin out?
I just ordered a 2' x 8' from cncrouterparts with nema23's.
PS what software are you guys using?
My kit ordered comes with Mach 3. Was considering vectric Cut3d for making the toolpaths. I do have Aspire, but its on an old laptop and the software is not actually my own.
I use ViaCAD for sketching parts. Another partner is also an autocad expert.
