You could do it either way.falls wrote:DBS/Iggy: Staples inside or outside the layup?
The way I am doing it at the moment I don't think I have enough sidewall excess to fit a staple that would end up outside the layup.
For production skis, staple is outside and cut off with flash. For certain prototypes without sidewalls, we will put it inside and pound it flat.
Both work fine.
Lib tech staples their sidewalls to their core and pounds the staple flat. Same idea with the tipspacer.
thanks dbs/scott
trimmed and sanded and dropped off for grinding this morning
There was a small incident with the trim router, approx 1 second after thinking "wow this tilt base router works really well, I haven't f@@ked a pair of skis at the last step for a while now". But I don't like to talk about it. I think I trod on the cord and it made the router tip when I continued moving it along.....

I think they're going to look killer! even if I do say so myself

Lookin good Falls.
I was wondering about the appropriateness of the topsheet for skiing in Japan.
I'm sure the tsunami will be fresh in peoples minds for a while.
Still look amazing!
Topsheets from Coda?
And yes, routers do suck.
I've gone back to the belt sander for sidewalls. You can still mess up but you've got to try harder

You don't even have a legit signature, nothing to reveal who you are and what you do...
Best of luck to you. (uneva)
