That's what my ex-wife used to ask me after I queried her regarding her pikachu.

So DBS, do you think they're using carbon fiber center of those marks or outer, I.E. tip and tail?
They use some variation of a V toward the tip and tail on all their boards.

Funny, I have played with a patterned variation of that on almost every board I've made. I think they may have settled for something sub-optimal...the push on front and back doesn't just involve the center of the board...quick edge using a bad technique enters into almost every turn...it's real life. Recovery is the key...

And I still decry the scoring of a core for alignment marks...there's these things now called PENS. Just sayin'.

I don't think they're for alignment marks, I think they are removing an equal amount of wood as they are adding carbon fiber, which doesn't seem necessary to me, but they are exact on making sure that all of their measurements are perfect.

Just like rabbiting the side of the core and/or sidewalls to account for the edge tine thickness. I suppose if you're CNCing you might as well, just seems like that's a lot of added machining time.

If they are not adding a full length piece of composite you will see it side on in the profile as a change in thickness. Makes sense. I would like to do that in my binding reinforcement area to make it super clean in my skis.
