Yes, I have seen where a lot of them are injected, but not all of them. It depends on what line of ski's/boards you are looking at. I don't know much about foam that is used, but fiberglass supply has some similar stuff for surfboards and boats

Hand building them also has the added benefits of using a P-Tex base more easily to resist breaking when sliding rails such as these.
(one of the places I am going to be doing testing)
Not to mention, I can't afford a 800Ton Injection Mold Press, and the tooling that goes along with.
Most surfboards are getting away from foam boards these days. Foam rides better because you can feel the waves more that are under your feet, but they snap way to easy. Most surfboards are epoxy these days. Especially short boards like Fish and Thrusters because the foam just can't take the forces they are subjected to.
