So from my understanding is that for wood sidewalls you cut stringers from an ash plank and then attach it with poly glue, adding an additional stringer to the outside of a sidewall to protect the sidewalls .

Yes. But not to protect the sidewall. Just to not get the topsheet kinked down the real edge where you can trap air and resin when doing vacuum.

I almost answered a technical question on the facebook snowboardbuilders group today... then i thought.. naw... this is a pain. They can do their homework, think, and then come find us on the skibuilders forum

Yeah. On all technical fb groups its a pain. The same Q answered multiple times every day (like that it feels). I wonder if at some point a movement towards the good old forums will start again, at least for that kind of stuff. FB is for that really bad. But its a fashion...
