KISS :) (like DBS and twizz, even thou I use a brush from time to time)(if you use the MM way of attching the edges "tines-under-base"*(with template) you get production fit! :))

After pouring a line of epoxy down the base I brush the epoxy into the teeth and onto the base. I am not super meticulous because the pressing process squeezes epoxy into the voids but I do like the control a brush gives me.
I use my fingers to apply a coat of epoxy to both sides of the vds strip prior to application. At this point I get paranoid about future delamination and this leads me to brush on a bit more epoxy to the top of the vds. When I spread the fiberglass out this extra epoxy wets it from the bottom a little more quickly that the rest of the glass.
I have had minimal issues with epoxy creeping onto the base of my skis using this method.

For the VDS I just lay it out onto the already epoxy coated based and then flip and repeat. I do use my fingers to make sure there are no dry spots on the VDS before laying over the edges.

Negative that is ondeck that thinks I deserve a medal but I tend to agree.
We lay the vds on dry like many other production companies.
Too much epoxy and it will migrate out of the layup.
