@G-man: glad to see you're still in the "business"

i hope you get some serious orders so we can see what you've been up to!
a couple of last questions: what size of motors and what drivers are you running your cnc with?
and is your whole x-axis leadscrew driven? i've always been told that leadscrews will work well up to about 50"...
@ALL: i've finally decided against the aluminum extrusions! i ran a few beam deflection calculators and every single time the steel tubing was stronger than the aluminum at only a little more weight and a much cheaper price.
i first thought that maybe the structure of those extrusions would make it stronger, but that doesn't seem to be the case. at least not at an amount that makes me willing to pay top dollars (or euro for that matter) for it.
