I cleaned out 4 rinks looking for hockey sticks over the past 3 weeks. I scored about 12 today. I ended up with about 25-28 or so broken sticks. I got anywhere from 1-4 cat track pieces from each one.

I cut them all to 14 inches and drilled them to fit the free 9/32" coaxial TV cable I got for free from a friend. I now just need to rip a few track pieces down to 3/4 x /3/4 for the tip and tail. I have enough track for about 7 feet.

All in all doing the cat track this way saved me about $200. Plus this will insulate my hoses (rated for 175 deg F) and not rob heat from my heaters.

I used both composite and wooden sticks. I'm not building yet so I haven't tested it But I think it will work.
