Stowe/Smuggs/Jay Peak area.
I have my steel for the press frame. It should get welded in a week or so. I have my hose and edge bender.
Working on trying to find a space to house everything. I am considering building a shed/ ski workshop. I also need to acquire some tools, build some molds and get some other materials.
Obviously I still have a ways to go but I'm finally heading the right direction.

New Gloucester, nice! I graduated from UMaine in 08 and I still go up to Orono frequently. I would love to meet up sometime and check out the press and your setup. I don't have a suitable place to even get started right now but I am ready to give this a try. I am looking for someone I can team up with to learn a few things and maybe split some costs or pitch in for using a press. Is this your fist shot at building skis?

Right on!
I'm graduating this coming spring and was able to turn it into my New Media capstone. I was able to convince my dad to let me house it in the garage that way haha.
This is my first attempt at building skis. And I'm trying to do it with an eco-conscious approach with building materials which is why New Media is letting me to do it for Capstone.
I'd be game to meet up sometime. Do you ride at Sunday River at all?

I didn't end up getting a pass this year because I can't get the college deal anymore. . . bummin about that. I will probably be doing mostly backcountry this year just to save some money. I am going to try to hit up most of the tele fests around the east as well. I took a New Media class at Maine with Sharon something, can't remember her last name but the class was pretty sweet, just an intro class but fun anyway. Let me know if you are around in the next few weeks, maybe we can talk about ordering some materials. I am going to check with my buddy about getting some scrap wood for cores, you interested in anything specific?
