New skis

Post by MaRuMo »

Hello everyone,

I think this year Idris, Martin and I managed to make great creations with the methods we've been exchanging within Skibuilders. Many thanks for ideas and help. Great team work. You'll find the difference in the methods we used between making the 06-07 season pair, and the 07-08 season pair. This year's as you may have already read in Idris's post, we made it out of wood palates I kept hold of at work. Some were real good quality! Bit of exercise to take the palate apart, and a lot of time spent with the little plainer, but it was all worth it.

The vacuum worked great as ever with an extra motor called the 'Pig' with the old fridge motor, the silent one. This year's skis have camber this time, and not twisted like the first pair ;) We also used a different method to route the core.

Enjoy!
