Core laminate strip widths
I would like to know what width strips other folks are using to make their cores. I started with .5” and .75” pieces laminated together, on 2 different skis. Commercial skis all seem to have much thinner strips presumably for a better flex pattern. Have other people used different widths and seen changes in their torsional rigidity or other improvements?

the thinner the strips are, the more homogenous the core is. The thinner the strips, the less influence from imperfections in the wood.
Although I can imagine the epoxy/glue used to glue the strips together will have some influence too, so maybe the thinner the strips the more influence from your glue.
Also, using strips from different batches of wood makes your core resemble closer the average properties of the wood used.
