Wood veneer on top of factory skis?

Post by Leighton Cash »

I have a pair of new K@ Public Enemy skis that i really love but i hate the topsheet graphics. I could also use a little bit more stiffness in the ski. I was thinking about adding a wood veneer to the tops to customize them. They have a urethane topsheet now. Any suggestions? Any foreseen problems with adhesion, etc?

urethane? isn't it base material still? in that case you will have a problem bonding anything to it.

There are several people at tgr who have done this well and have the steps documented over there. Have fun with the search feature.
Aside from that sand, apply veneer from what I remember.
Maybe they did say it stiffened it a bit even from one sheet.
