vds rubber in tip/tail

Post by MartinJern »

Do u guys put vds strips all the way round the edge or just the running length? (if u do a full wrap edge, will say)

I've seen people doin both ways, is there a reason not to put it in the tips or is it just for saving time/material?

I go for a full wrap with VDS. The tips and tails are prime spots for vibration and delamination. VDS damps vibration and mitigates the shear stresses that can lead to delamination.
I don't use fully wrapped edges. My edges terminate partway up the tip and tail the same way as my volkl explosivs. I think this approach also helps to avoid delamination issues.
I'm not sure why anyone would not use VDS in the tips.

Ditto. Full wrap edges and full wrap with the vds.
