There is a new entry-level ski grinder available, that has been specially designed for the micro tuning shops. If you must-have structure and can afford a big brand stone grinder, this is not the machine you’re looking for. It does however, solve many problems the smaller shops face.
This simple, yet effective, grinder uses electroplated synthetic diamonds as the grinding material, an emulsion for lubrication and cooling, and will plug into any 110 volt outlet. Its made with a powder coated all aluminum frame (never rust), simple parts (available at most hardware stores or on Amazon), and a 3/4Hp motor that draws about 4 amps during operation (no dedicated electrical circuit needed).
The synthetic diamond grinding cylinder produces results that are very compatible to a belt grind (it does not create structure) effectively opening pours and truing the base. These synthetic diamond cylinders will outlast any stone or belt on the market, as you will never need to true or dress the cylinder, only clean. Consider the hardness of diamonds and how soft bases and the metal edges are on your boards. Our cylinders are made to specific tolerances to guarantee true bases.
With a small footprint of 14”w X 30” d X 12”h and weighing in under 100 lbs, it doesn’t tie up a lot of shop space and makes it portable if needed. We suggest a rolling tool cart as a base for the grinder.
All grinders are shipped with a 2-year provisional guarantee and 21-day full-refund return policy. No questions asked.
The provisional part of the guarantee is that we will ship you the part needed for the repair at no-cost, but you will need to install the part.
