Re-pressing ski to get more rocker

Post by pmg »

Hello,

I know some of you did this before:
I recently built a powder ski which has too little rocker (both tip and tail). The reason is the camber of the mould which was too much which prevented the plywood from getting pressed into the mould shape.

I would like to re-press the ski with less camber but the same rocker in hope to get more rocker. Is this a good idea or does it not work anyway and is not worth the effort?
If its worth the effort, how much did you gain by re-pressing (50% of the "new" mould shape, 25%?)
I think both heat and time would be important to get the best result.

Thanks & best regards
Philipp
