hi guys,
managed to screw up one of my cores that i'm working on while I was profiling them.
don't ask me exactly how this happened, but i'm using a router bridge and my mind went somewhere else for a little bit.
it's a splitboard core, and as you can see i went straight through it where the center sidewall is.
it's a pauwlownia/poplar mix core with ABS sidewalls. 2.5 - 7.7 - 2.5mm.
see the attached image. any ideas of how i could go about fixing it? or does it go straight to the bin?
can i fix messed up core?

Re: can i fix messed up core?
Just fill it with epoxy/microballoon mix or bond an offcut of the core back on. No biggie
Re: can i fix messed up core?
thanks, i'll try the microballoon solution. much appreciated!

Re: can i fix messed up core?
Had a similar oupsie last year on my snowboard where the collet of the router wasn't tightened enough. was smaller but along the sidewalls. filled it with epoxy microballoons and didn't run into any issues.

Happy to hear that it worked out.
Gonna give it a go!

You could get creative with a tip spacer too. Is that the nose? I had to turn my last board into a swallow tail due to the same mistake recently. I’m very happy I did because it’s feeling so good in the deep snow!
Re: can i fix messed up core?
i filled it up with microballon expoxi putty and it seem to have worked fine. haven't gotten to re-profile the core yet but should work fine.
thanks everyone for your ideas!
