The black skis are 80mm under foot. Core is Paulownis with Ash-stringers and ABS sidewalls. Layup is 450g triax Carbon with glassfleece next to the core. On top is just topsheet. In beween the 0 degree fibres are some trapped airbubbles. Didn´t try them yet. I am not happy with the tip yet, I will sand it round soon. I my imagination it looked better.
The one with veneer is 105mm under foot. Core is Ash, 3-11.5-3mm, 750g triax glas and ABS sidewalls. Only tested on the hills of Sauerland. Doing good but Sauerland is to small for a real ski.
The one with the wooden tip and tail is 95mm under foot. Core is Ash, 2.5-11-2.5. Layup is 400g glass uni, 300 carbon biax, core, 300 biax carbon and 400g glass uni. Just some veneer on tip and tail, otherwise pure fibres. Epoxy is Super Sap which is UV-stabilized. No sidewalls but lots of linseed oil. This ski is an evolution of my first three builds. I really liked the third one but after buying new boots I was not able to adjust my bindings far enough. So I decided to build a new ski instead of drilling new holes into the old one. I changed a few things: No sidewalls, no edges at tip and tail, different geometry on tip and tail.
What can I say: I skied it and fell in love. But the Sauerland-rule is to be applied here as well.
So now I am waiting to visit the alps in february and around the easterholidays.
