HDPE Sidwalls

Post by JoseSnow »

Hi everybody!
Just wondering if any of you is actually using HDPE Sidewalls. I am usin them right now cause it bonds way easier than UHMW and it is way cheaper.
If you have used it, can you tell me your experience??

Thanks!

if i'm not mistaken, all polyethylene should be handled and treated as if it's UHMW (ie: sanding/flaming).

Depends on who you ask, what your answer will be if you say: hey, is HDPE just "extruded base", and UHMW is "sintered"? I've asked multiple plastics experts this very question, and have gotten many different answers. I'll dig up the response from the president of Crown when I get a chance though, that might be one of the more valid ones.

Thanks Knight,
I am treating the same way HDPE and UHMW (Grinding, Flaming and cleaning).

The Hdpe bonds way better than the UHMW for me. Just wondering if it is good for impacts. I notices it is harder than UHMW.
