where to buy T-Inserts for snowboard bindings?

Post by petemorgan(pmoskico) »

Do the inserts that the ski-lab guys sell work for snowboard bindings?

im making my first split board and I am going to be using the voile split boarding system.

my understanding is that I have to use T-inserts pre-cure for the binding plate section but that the tip/tail clips I should install post cure, as well as the walk mode section.

Thanks for the help

Miller studios has the best selection of inserts. As far as preparing your core goes, the only thing you will want to "put on after" is the tip/tail clips and china hooks. the puck stance options, touring bracket and touring riser should all have pre inserts in the core. On my DIY (cut a board in half) makes prior to getting into building I did put the touring riser on with wood screws and epoxy.

My theory is if you are going to spend hours and hours making a splitboard from scratch,

"Dont half ass anything and it may turn out half ass"

Oh, and a little tip. After centerpunching your insets spots use the fostner bit to countersink -BEFORE- drilling the holes. If you dont you will be either hammering the shit out them to get them in there flush and hopfully straight, or praying the press does it for you.

Thanks dtrain

Do i need the M5 or the M6 inserts? looks like miller studios sells the M6 but blank slate sells both M5 and M6.

I am guessing that snowboards have a standard all around size. do the walking mode and heal risers use the same size too? i should probably get the voile system before laying up to make sure i got it all figured out

Snowboards use M6 inserts... you can find the VOILÉ inserts patterns on splitboard.com
