I have identical vacuum setup, woks very well.

I use beech/poplar wood core at the moment and a router of 1600W does it easily in 2-3 runs.

I imagine with bamboo it might go easier, have experience that bamboo is more easy to machine then beech, and also beech dust is not good for health, so I plan on long run probably to go to bamboo.
