Fontaine belt sander and stone grinder for sale

Post by HighAdven »

We're (our shop) have replaced our tuning equipment with a newer Wintersteiger combo machine. We are therefore selling our Fontaine FSC - 11 Stone Grinder as well as our Fontaine Model 1400 belt sander.

Both machines operate on single phase 220V household current.

Both machines are fully supported for consumables by SVST.

The FSC-11 has a 127mm wide stone. While that is not ideal for most of the skis constructed by those on this site, we have successfully used a 3 pass method with modified pressure to get a good finish on wider skis.

It has autofeed, adjustable stone speed and dresser speed, as well as adjustable pattern.

The stone that is currently mounted does not have much life left to it, and the dressing diamond is at half life. You will need to have a supply of coolant emulsion and filters, and also need a bridge if you plan to grind skis with a binding mounted.

As the buyer might not have an SVST account, we will be happy to work with you to get any consumables you might need at a very reduced cost.

It is in good cosmetic condition.

The Fontaine belt is a model 1400, which takes a 14x80 inch belt.

Included are edger guides for both skis and snowboards, the ski edger is adjustable from 1 to 4 degrees side angle, and the snowboard attachment is a fixed 1 degree side angle.

A base angle plenum is included which sets a 1 degree base bevel angle.

The tracking on the belt is no longer functional. It is not in good cosmetic condition, and has been modified to fix the problem with base material clogging the cooling system, and a modified door to use the end wheel to whale on the skis to remove gunk.

Our machinest will repair the tracking system for $400, using off the shelf machine parts, or you can do the repair yourself.

Both machines include the full user manuals.

The price for both machines is $2000, or $1500 each.

We would be able to ship the machines anywhere in the US for actual freight and palatalization cost. You may choose the carrier or we can arrange to use the company that we have a relationship with.

High or medium resolution pictures are available via email on request.

Also available is a Wintersteiger Polyjet 80. this machine is(was) used for quick high volume ptex repair. It does NOT work on the tip and tail of a modern shape ski.

It is a good source for machine control parts, an enclosure, motors, a ptex gun ect. If you purchase and pick up the other items you may simply have it. It is not worth shipping. If someone wants the Polyjet 80 on its own, it would be $150 so we can roll it our of storage.

The machines are currently in Latham, NY
