Epoxy release

Post by neatturns »

What kind of epoxy release are you using on the aluminum sheets that sandwich the skis? I have been using packing tape, but wondering what else I could use.

thanks

parchment paper...the stuff used to prevent cakes from sticking to the baking tray. works well and is cheap.
you just have to attach it to the top cassette somehow (i use spray glue on each end), otherwise you'll get wrinkles in your topsheet.

Parchment paper works well. Some builders use old release wax.

I use parchment. Adhere it to the Alu skins with spray adhesive

I actually do both. I thoroughly wax the bottom with mold release wax, then lay parchment on that, and on top of the topsheet. Inevitably I always get a tear or two in the bottom parchment so a TINY bit of epoxy gets on the aluminum, but it chips right off with a scraper.
