I put a brand new bit in the router and didnt check the bearing lock. it was loose and slid up on my first pass. how much do you think this will affect strength of the edge? should i try and plug it with epoxy or just leave it be?

ok cool, thats what i was hopin for. were you using wood sidewalls or uhmw?

Where is it located on the ski? If it's right underfoot you might want to build it up with epoxy but other wise you shouldn't have to worry about it.

I think it is part of the ritual of ski building that you have at least one router mishap when profiling.

Yea, I just did the same on my last pair of skis. Should be fine I'd think.

Nothing drive me as crazy as a router slip on the sidewall. I usually fill them with JB weld for wood

Really, people who see it have no idea why it's there. Most people think it's on purpose and ask what it's for. Anyone have a good answer?
