A few questions

I am planning on building ski since quite a while and i am reading here for about two weeks but i still have a few questions

I plan to build a ski similar to a völkl bridge.
95mm base 128 tip and 115 tail.
i am 1,83m (72 inces) at only 60kg (132kg) without ski clothes

my questions are:

how thick should the core bee?

are two layers of 750g/m² (~26) oz triaxial glas to much? or maybee to less? many people use 22 oz glas, don´t they?

and my last question is how much rocker i should use and weather i can make early rise with snocad.

I also designes but as mentioned i am very unsure about the rocker and also the width is not correct. Do they use two different sidecuts?
because i have to lower the sidecut to 15000mm instead of22900mm

First off, welcome to the forum!

Your core thickness depends on what kind of wood you use, and how stiff or soft you want the ski.

26oz triax fiberglass will work, but it'll be on the stiff side (although you can make your core thinner to account for that), and on the heavy side (it will soak up a lot of resin)

22 --> 26 is an increase of about 14%. Off-set the reduction in core volume and therefore weight, so they should be the same or lighter. That's my experience with similar materials.

The core will be made of glued ash. THe ski will have a length of 185cm
I thought i might need a less thick core because i am very light weight but on the other hand the ski is not the widest so i am a little unshure

That's a difficult question to answer since the feel/flex of the ski is very subjective to the individual. I weigh roughly 195lbs and a core of 3-10-3 is a softer ski for me, especially if I use a mix of hard and soft wood. I ski mostly GS and all mountain skis, so the mid width of the skis I make run 68-82mm and lengths from 168-180cm. I use 22oz triax FG. For me, I wouldn't go smaller than 3-10-3. My GS skis are generally 3-12-3 and are all maple or ash and I consider them on the firm side.

If you're using plastic tip spacers I think they're are 2mm thick. I use wood tip spacers that are 3mm thick.

I'm assuming you'll be making more than 1 ski, so make a 2-10-2, 2-12-2 and compare

i think i will go with 10mm for the core as the glas is thicker, the ski a bit wider and i am lighter.

any tips about the ammount of rocker?

I would post the design i did but somehow i still can´t even though i did two posts and i am also registered more than one day.

so i did another one just for the rocker and camber
notice that the ski will be 185 long but the tips aren´t in the design yet.
the ski will be 185 long as said.

It would be nice to hear something about that design , even if it is complete crap...

I would not really feel comfortable with just building something

Hey Stick, I don't see why the design would not work. Of course there's only one way to know. btw - what software are you using to design the ski?

Ok Tanks i think i will give it a try

I Used snocad 2 for this because you can see how high your tips are and Not only the tips radius. But you cant just tipe in how high you want them you Need to klick alot
