building bikes?
I know, I know ... this is a skibuilding forum, but has anyone here built a bike frame? I am starting to do research on building bamboo bike frames and want to see as many pictures of simple bike jigs as possible.
Don't be silly, bamboo is only good for ski cores
Actually several boutique bike companies have made successful bamboo frames. These guys probably make the best:

Not quite skibuilders but a ton of info.
I thought about bike building a few years ago, but the start up costs seemed overwhelming.

You don't even have a legit signature, nothing to reveal who you are and what you do...
Best of luck to you. (uneva)

I cut down a ton of bamboo at my fiance's parent's old house and have been saving it for a couple of years now to build a bamboo bike. I built a test frame last year just for fun, it looks cool but it's nothing I could use. I lashed all the joints with carbon fiber, and it's hanging on the wall in my shop
Maybe next year I'll have more time to actually build the real bike.

A buddy of mine went and checked out these guys shop in Fort Collins. He said they were happy to give a tour. I'm sure they would be stoked to talk to you about their process

I came across this site over the summer, http://www.renovobikes.com/ not bamboo though. If I wasn't so into ski building I'd be building bikes like that, or at least be trying

Hellya! Built a dozen or so back in the mid 90's. Road and triathlon bikes, 700c, and 650c wheelsets. I was accually thinking about selling all my jigs, and frame sets. I have two frame sets (tubes only) and one in the table ready to TIG. The framesets are 7001 Easton Taper-wall tubing, all aero tubes, pretty cool. I will take some photo's. kt
