clear plastic board bags

Post by knightsofnii »

You know those bags some boards are in with the zipper in the shop.

Anyone with lots of buying power wanna go in on a group buy of 10,000 bags? That's minimum quantity. And I have no use for any more than 100 of them :(

We can come up with a few nominal sizes that fit our boards and sell some too. Just an idea.

Anyone know where these can be had in USA? Think i'm just going to track down a garment bag manufacturer in NYC and get them custom.

we have been talking about our "packaging" ideas too!
10,000 is a lot of those things!
grab the uline catalog, they have a lot of cool options in there, but they all would require some modification (ie. zippers, snaps, etc) to make a nice snowboard bag.
in reality we are thinking of having something sewn that is pretty nice. if we are gonna spend money on it, it might as well be something that the end user (consumer) wants to keep around instead of throw away once they get the new snowboard. look at apple products, they make cool foam and cardboard packaging and most people i know still have those boxes laying around for some reason or another, i know i do!

where are you looking at getting these bags from? i can custom make cardboard boxes with my cnc as well!

I think on this first round of these I'm just going to use shrink wrap plastic in uline boxes.

But yeah, I always think of Apples packaging as the most awesome ever and that's where I want to be. Those Chinese bags are that large of an order?!?

so far, there's the language barrier, so every email i get is skewed,
they said the MOQ (minimum order quantity?) is 10,000.

I gotta sleep early so I can converse with them via more than one email per day, at 2am.

In the mean time I sent emails to a few shops in NYC that make garment bags for suits and such, virtually the same thing just needs to be scaled for snowboard fit.

U-line has garment bags. But i dont know if they do custom.

Lots of small companies just get u-line poly tube, and the cutter/sealer thing. But I want a more professional look.

I saw tarp zippers at ace hardware the other day. I didn't look at the package but I assume they have sticky edges that can be applied to a plastic to make a zipper bag. Just a thought
