That's good and bad! (for me) It's good because you actually remember things! And bad because you don't trust what you remember! Both these things electrical engineering and german (language) belongs to a previous life of mine. :)

I knew PS had to do with the effect somewhere deep in my memory! Thanks Chris!

Sorry for the PS-HP-Confusion... my mistake

I will try to connect the cables in the way DBS suggested. If I don't come back, call 911  :D

Everything is fine and the motor now turns in the other direction, perfekt! Thanks doughboyshredder for the solution and all others for your support 8)

Next step is to develop some low budget rollers. I have already bought some material... In addition I think the table should be bigger: at least one meter.

Generally the first runs where really promising and I am amazed that there is really few dust.

Cheers, Christoph

Profiled test stripe:

... and a short video 8)

I sanded some spruce today for a non-boardbuilding-project and I can say this machine eats wood like nothing. 8)

I collected all my expenses for this project because I wanted to know how much it costs when it is finished. I am sure you know how it is: some bucks here, some there...

Prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF). Maybe I have to add that the current exchange between CHF and EUR/$ is horrible at the moment (for you) and Switzerland is an expensive country.

So maybe you can build it for less...

Shaft (Metal Store): 23.75 CHF
Motor (Ebay): 37.00 CHF
Pillow Block Bearing (Ebay): 31.00 CHF
Drive System (maedler.ch): 91.20 CHF
Wood (DIY Store): 156.20 CHF
Screws/Hinges (DIY Store): 48.65 CHF
Sanding Paper (parkag.ch): 84.00 CHF (ok 50m is a lot)
Various (DIY Store): 8.60 CHF

Total: 480.40 CHF ... ok, I am a little bit shocked  but happy 8)

I still have to buy an emergency stop button but then the project is finished.

Cheers, Christoph

PS: In google you can type e.g. 10 chf in $ and then you will get the exchange rate.

16. July 2010: 480 CHF = 460 $
16. July 2011: 480 CHF = 590 $

For me it's good because I could make cheap holidays in the states but for our export economy this is terrible.

It think the wood and screws were expensive and I have a lot of sanding paper. The motor is a used one which was mounted on steam cleaner.

Might have an ES button I can send you. I'll let you know tonight.

Simon.

Edit - nope. We'd decomissioned a couple of draglifts, but the cabinets (and the buttons with them) went off to the scrap at the end of last week, it seems.

@ tufty: Thanks for checking up?

I search for hours after this factory video with the cnc-core-thickness-sander... Does anyone have the link?

Thanks, Christoph
