12k 9.5 oz Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Remnant
We all have to fund our ski building habit somehow, I fund mine by working for an Engineered custom composite manufacturing company.
I just helped go through some of our scrap/remnant material, we have a fairly large amount of 12k carbon fiber unidirectional fabric. Material measures min. 11" x 100" and has been rolled.
Currently listed on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Carbon-Fiber-Fabr ... 84f5d#shId (so that our finance dept. can track orders....) 3 pcs for $25+shipping
PM me for qty. discounts

PM me your ebay name and order date and I can check into it. Our web/eBay guy has been out since last Thursday, he'll be back in today.Brazen wrote:Hey! Where's my stuff?
If he's taking his time to get things out I'll take care of it.

Here's who has ordered:
abs---ka
dj--tb
shi--ot
bret----25
buz---9
If your eBay username is Brazensnowboards I don't think you actually ordered.
Everyone besides shi--ot (I messeged him here, it will be posted soon) has UPS tracking posted on ebay, and all questions have been responded to.

I dont think cutting the material at a 90 to the O fibers would be beneficial in ski building in any way if I understand your question.leboeuf wrote:Krp,
I've never worked with carbon so this may sound stupid...
Could you cut the uni down across its width easily? As in take the 11in width and cut that down to 1in widths?
You could cut it in longer strips on the 0 axis and use it like tape is that what you mean?
I don't feel that 1 inch of uni does anything in a ski maybe a tad bit of pop.

I think leboeuf is asking about making strips, like uni tape. This looks similar to the Corning uni carbon I've used in the past for this very purpose. You can see the individual 12k tows in the eBay photo.

Krp, Awesome.
I'll order some later tonight.
Being that I don't have epic Montanna pow to ski, my pow days involve a lot of crud. My last day up at Silverton pointed out some flaws in my fat skis. Namely I get some torsional flex from the furthest contact point of my ski to the center of my bindings. (ski flattens while edging hard in sh!tty conditions)
My plan is to place carbon stringers along ~70deg and ~60deg in an X pattern to try and stiffen the flex from the ski contact points to my bindings.
I'll put a thread together with some pics in a bit.
