Blah! I check the press and the heaters as part of my checklist, top and bottom WERE working until I repositioned the thermocouple for the bottom blanket and got the dreaded no cont on the pid. So this board just has top blanket, and overall I was trying a lower temperature to bring the material shrinkage into equilibrium. We'll see. Best fit and layup yet, tried a different locating system and I SO am not pulling this board until it cools this time...I hate the suspense! I just need to have a couple beers and chill I guess.
I had a thought, what if fingerjoints contributed to dampening? All those little gaps and transitions providing a buffer for vibration? Obviously you loose pop and some responsiveness and perhaps longevity of the board camber but perhaps it delivers a damper feel? Just a thought.

Out of the press, trimmed and base belt ground...waiting to rub out the topcoat, drill out the inserts and stone grind. I'm pretty happy with this one. Core was 7mm underfoot, 6.5mm center, 2mm tips true twin tip and a carbon fiber center stringer. Feels good and lively with a certain dignity about it...but enough tech speak , I'll post a pic when she's finished. Happy )
