Does anyone know where to get fishscale p-tex.Like on cross country skis?

This has been asked a few times before, and the general consensus is that you have to just do it yourself with a router and a jig.

Talked to Jim @ crown and he said that it is prob a machined product.


I'd like to make a touring ski that has about 18 -24 inches of grip under foot. I've seen the threads on the subject and thought maybe there was an easier way to do it.

I would think a CNC would do a pretty good job, just make sure you hold the material down tight! A vacuum table woudl be a must.

I have noticed that the skinless touring skis out there seem to have some kind of additinal film or coating applied to the controured section of the base. I assumed it was to reject wax (and keep the scles clear and grippy) but havnl;t looked far enough into it.
