rubber bladder vacuum mold question

Post by o2bjedi »

I've seen a few rubber bladder style vacuum set-ups on the site. Anyone know where to find the rubber sheets?

Hej OAC!
Where did you find your silicone sheets and what did you pay? I got some samples the other day from

http://www.ulinco.se/UserFiles/Ulinco/w ... 7%2037.pdf (Swedish site)

I think they have 0.5-1.5 mm in thickness in stock (very expensive, approx 900 kr/m^2 ?!!) The silicone sheets are somewhat transparent, kind of "milky" in color but I hope they will work with vacuum infusion, so I can see the flow front.

I also got some of this:
RTV-silikon 67 from www.kinn.com (Swedish site) to see if I can make my own custom silicone vacuum vacuum bag. Hopefully it will manage 120 degrees C and also be self releasing :-)

Will post the results as soon as I have made some preliminary tests. Keep up the good work!

Hi Johan
How's your memory?? :)
Here is the place: http://www.rima.se/
I'm fortunate they are placed in Gothenburg so I can visit them.
Rubber ca: 300 sek/m (wider than 1 m..I don't remember...1.20)
Silicone ca: 600 sek/m same width
Both 1.5 mm thick. I prices might have varied.
Both prices ex. moms.

I will gear up to silicone soon.

Haha, that right. I forgot. Thanks for the price information anyway. I have memory like a goldfish right now, trying to order all material, doing CAD drawings for the molds and templates, designing the first three ski models and so on. Can´t wait to get started!

I see we think alike, regarding the hot-box for baking the skis... I will give you a hint: http://www.ikea.com/se/sv/catalog/products/70123007
And its got a pizza-function as well (for extra crisp skis)! What more can you ask for? 700 kr (80€) for a brand new one since the glass door was broken, which i was going to chuck away anyhow. Will report on that later :-)
