Core profile problem!

Post by linuslimpan »

Hi all!

I have som problems deciding how long the binding area of my skiis should be, and where I should place the binding area (forward from the center or backward). I´m using voilé Hardwire CRB binding.

And also: How do I get these dimesions of the core in to Snocad-X?? I´ve tried to put in different dimensions of the core i Snocad-X but can´t really get it right...

Skiis will be used as Telemarkskiis.

Facts on the skiis I´m building:

Core: Maple

Thickness of binding area: 10 mm
Thickness of tip and tail area: 2 mm
Overall length: 1760 mm
Running lenght: 1520 mm
Nose lenght: 140 mm
Tail lenght: 100 mm
Nose width: 126 mm
Tail width: 114 mm
Waist width: 94 mm
Sidecut radius: 22,5 m

the most common methods for mounting bindings is boot center mount or chord center mount, for further information you should check out the web or this forum by search.

snoCAD... i ve tried it couple of months ago but there s no place to type in the measurements, you can just drag this tiny buttons till the dimension you want shows up. it s especially annoying when shaping the thickness of the core, this didn t work out in my case anyway, one point didn t fix, it just followed the other... maybe i m just too silly, or it s my old mac that doesnt handles the newest version of snocad

maybe you should use another app like adobe illustrator, vectorworks, autocad,... a little harder to get into it but unlimited and exact results. or just drawing by hand, if you don t need cnc machining files would be the easiest
