snowboard thickness question

Post by nick »

I have been doing a lot of research on all kinds of websites lately and was watching the boardcrafter.com videos and noticed that when he was using the design software in the 2nd video that he said you want the width of the board where your bindings go to be the exact length of your bare foot. Is this true? What is the fundamentals, logic and purpose of this? He is also saying that it is important to know the height of the rider. I believe that is true w/ skis but not snowboards. To the best of my knowledge it all has to do with your weight due to less surface area touching the snow as oppose to skis. Big time companies don't even measure their board lengths by how tall you are, it's by how much you weigh. Please explain this to me. I want to understand the what goes into the specs of a board.

importand is the wight of the rider an the shoe sizze - and the angels and the stand.
the waist of a snowboard + the lengh and the radius + the flex class ( coreprofil + belts materila ) make the diferent betwen the board groups.
all things are importand for a custom board.....
series boards for many peopels.... for construktionis one quastion importand.
How ride the Board - what will he do ? clear this quastion first...
