Ski Press and CNC Router for Sale

Post by spencer »

Selling my ski press and CNC router, details below. The ski press itself is complete, but there are no molds and the cat track needs to be assembled. I started designing and building a custom CNC router for fabricating molds and then life got in the way before I fully finished. After not making progress in a couple years I'm looking to sell what I have.

Located in New Hampshire. PM with your email for pictures.

Ski Press, asking $1,200 OBO + freight/pickup
-constructed from 5" square steel beams. Professionally welded.
-Working area is: 84" x 15"
-Mounted on 6" casters for transport
-Comes with 2x custom silicone heat blankets (79" x 15", 120V, 1000W)
-partially finished cat track: 3/4" square tubes which have all been cut to length to run the length of the press. Comes with steel cable and hardware but holes need to be drilled and assembled
-comes with a 4ftx8ft 18ga steel sheet, uncut
-fire hose air bladder
-approx 80 feet of spare fire hose to use or resell
-spare section of 5" tubing, approx 8ft long

CNC Router, asking $1,000 OBO + freight/pickup:
-custom designed CNC router based on the Ox CNC and openbuilds parts.
-working area of approx 84" x 15" x 6"
-rack and pinion drive on the long axis, lead screw on the other 2
-brand new dewalt DWP611 router
-24V / 14.6A Power Supply
-CNC xPRO V3 Controller Stepper Driver
-Note: not fully assembled and you still need to supply 2 stepper motors to drive the long axis (approx $25ea). selling this at a discount from what all the parts cost considering that this isn't up and running. There are options for both opensource and proprietary software to run this, but I haven't taken that step yet.

Hey,

I'm interested in the CNC router set up you have. If you could send me some pictures of the current state of affairs and any other information you might have regarding the build. Did you have any specific resources or build you were following? I am located in Buffalo, NY. Where in NH are you located?

Thanks,

Jon

I've had a number of requests for pictures so I just made two craiglist postings:

Ski/snowboard press:

CNC Router:

@jonC the router is based on an Ox CNC router design and built with mostly parts from OpenBuilds.com. A quick google search will show a bunch of similar designs. Mine is unique in that it is quite a bit longer than typical -- I took some advice from a ski/baord builder who has one called BearOx when designing it. I have solidworks models for everything if it interests you.

Interested in the press. Couple questions
1. what is the weight and dimensions? Interested in looking into freight shipping verse driving up to pick it up.
2. How long would you be willing to hold with payment as I already have a tripped planned to killington in Nov, but could come up sooner if needed.

1. weight is 1600 for the press, probably round up to 1700 to include the fire hose, bladder, cat track, and heat blankets. Overall size is 9ft x 5ft x 2.1ft
2. I'm okay holding onto this in my garage until November with payment

Let me do come measuring to make sure it will fit where I was planning on putting it. I am in VT at killington the weekend after thanksgiving and it looks like you are pretty close, so I could grab it then. I will let you know this week.
