Topsheet protective film- what do you use?

Post by mountainbikeak »

Just curios what brand and where some of you get your protective film to protect the topsheet during layup? I've used tape, but thought it would be nice to have a solid cover. Couldn't find anything specific searching! Thanks!

how about heat? Usually plastic or vinyl films soften up and deform at 160° F

I use this transfer tape to protect the base and top sheet. I heat from the bottom at 175 deg F and have zero problems with this tape. After trimming the ski this tape pulls off with ease, no residue.

Has anyone had success buying this vinyl application tape locally? If yes, where did you find it; a sign shop, craft store? Looks like this stuff is perfect. Planned on using packing tape but that stuff seems brittle and a PITA to even pack with...
