Rubber Toughened Epoxy

Post by Thelongride »

Does anyone know where one could buy rubber toughened liquid epoxy in the States?

Something like the HPR5 listed here: (Made in New Zealand though, and doesn't seem to be exported)

Also curious if anyone's played around with this, perhaps yield greater vibration damping?

You could try to get rubber powder and just mix it with your epoxy. Epoxy for itself is flexible, so with the rubber content you could change it even more + modify the damping. Look for your epoxy datasheet and check the modulus of your product, depends also on the curing process and how high you go with temp.

P.S. but i doubt it would make a big difference ;)
