So from my understanding is that for wood sidewalls you cut stringers from an ash plank and then attach it with poly glue, adding an additional stringer to the outside of a sidewall to protect the sidewalls .

Yes. But not to protect the sidewall. Just to not get the topsheet kinked down the real edge where you can trap air and resin when doing vacuum.

Yeah. On all technical fb groups its a pain. The same Q answered multiple times every day (like that it feels). I wonder if at some point a movement towards the good old forums will start again, at least for that kind of stuff. FB is for that really bad. But its a fashion... ;)
