shaping p-tex

Post by guest »

I was just wondering if there was an easy way to make the p-tex fit inside the edges and core, because the edges added to the core make the ski shape slimmer. I hope I explained it well enough.

hello, and welcome!

i'm a little confused by your question. please explain. if it helps, we cut out the p-tex base material in the final shape that we want the ski to have, then bend the edges to contour the perimeter of the base. the base material can be cut in a number of ways. we've used a sharp utility knife, scissors, and now a template (made from 1/4" plywood) and a router. the edges are secured temporarily with SuperGlue, for example see here. i'm not clear by "...edges added to the core make the ski shape slimmer".
