Thanks guys!

Chris, sorta a mix of stuff I posted up there...

Raw veneer boards i posted as just clear coated with spar urethane. I actually worked out a technique for brushing it on and it looks pretty damn good.

Finished board with artwork is via vince at miller studios, and my artist bled in some wood grain to the image to get that appearance.

Veneer topsheets with art are direct printed. I am planning to just clearcoat over them, but i have some coupon tests i'll run this week with that vs. some crown clear topsheet. I'll have to post up and let ya'll know what I decide to do!

Too busy to post up my coupon results lately. Here's a sexy board though, same artwork just done on veneer and clear coated. Cherry sidewalls go so well with it, didn't mean for that to happen.

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Really printing right on to the veneer? This printer is 10 feet from me right now, I need to try some veneer on it.

Oh hell ya. With that I'd try printing right on the underside of clear base material as we'll.

Tried it...doesn't really work. The ink runs on the rough surface and doesn't stick to it.

how does the printer apply the ink to the surface? does it "blot" dots? or spray drops? either way, try to reduce the amount that comes out per dot or blob or drop or whatever.

I know others that talked about direct printing mentioned they had to tweak settings alot.
