That's printed on 27lb matte paper Steve. Then a layer of epoxy, then spar poly.
You could probably go to kinkos and use their large format scanner. You will have to splice the images back together in photoshop but at least this way you wouldn't have to ruin your only copy of the map.
Or you could use a DSLR and take a high res photo. Hell even a good quality film camera, then scan the negative into the computer and take it from there.
