Very cool! I'm actually doiing something similar with my next pair, I had an old map of the Seattle area from 1908 subbed onto nylon.

Maps look sweet on skis.

Threw the first coat of epoxy on last night. Can't wait to buff these out.

Ya, I hardly recognized you :D

Skis look nice too.
You don't even have a legit signature, nothing to reveal who you are and what you do...

Best of luck to you. (uneva)

Wow, like the map. Was the map printed onto a nylon topsheet or is that a paper map epoxied on? Might have to steal that :-D I have an old elevation map of our town that' wide/long enough for skis. Wish I had 2 maps so I could use one for a pair of skis.

That's printed on 27lb matte paper Steve. Then a layer of epoxy, then spar poly.

You could probably go to kinkos and use their large format scanner. You will have to splice the images back together in photoshop but at least this way you wouldn't have to ruin your only copy of the map.

Or you could use a DSLR and take a high res photo. Hell even a good quality film camera, then scan the negative into the computer and take it from there.

On the skis in the middle, is the bamboo a veneer or is that the core with FG on top? Looks great either way!
